PEDAL FRANCE

Finish: St. Tropez, France

The Cherbourg to St Tropez Road Stage Relay is a challenging, five-day event combining endurance cycling, route planning and teamwork.

Teams of four, with two riders on the road and two in a support vehicle, traverse France from the northern coast to the Mediterranean.

The Challenge

Spanning five days and hundreds of kilometers, this relay event is as much about strategy as physical ability.

Teams must cycle from Cherbourg to St Tropez, collecting as many checkpoint points as possible within each Stages time limit.

Only two team members ride at a time, while the other two navigate the support vehicle using car rally book notation and also collecting checkpoints on the way, swapping roles at designated changeovers.

Penalties for late arrivals add to the pressure, demanding a blend of speed, smart route planning and impeccable teamwork.

Difficulty

Technical Difficulty: Moderate – Teams must navigate efficiently using paper maps and route books, planning routes to maximize checkpoint scores.

Physical Difficulty: High – Riders face daily distances of 100–150km, with some challenging climbs and long hours in the saddle requiring peak endurance.
