Take on Devon’s toughest cycling challenge: a 24-hour, non-stop relay from coast to coast. Teams of four ride in pairs, navigating through the night and choosing their own routes between stage changeovers to gather as many checkpoints as possible. It’s a race against the clock that tests your endurance, strategy and teamwork like no other.

Overview:

  • This is a tough, winter overnight event for gravel and MTB riders.

  • Teams of four (two riders, two drivers) will race non-stop for 24 hours across up to 300 miles.

  • Riders will swap roles at stage changeovers, selecting their own routes to collect checkpoints.

  • The clock never stops and teams must finish within the 24-hour window—late arrivals incur time penalties.

  • The team with the most points after penalties wins!

Difficulty

Technical: MTB Blue routes, back lanes and tracks. Route planning and navigation are key.

Physical: Endurance to ride up to 150 miles per day.

Event Schedule

22 Feb, 10:00 – Race briefing (stage locations and timings disclosed)

22 Feb, 11:15 – Stage 1 route book handed out

22 Feb, 12:00 – Race starts, Stage 1

22 Feb Stage 1-2 handover window - South Exmoor

23/23 Feb  Stage 2-3 handover window - North Dartmoor

23 Feb  Stage 3-4 Hand-over window - South Dartmoor

23 Feb No Later Than 12:00 - Stage 4 Finish Prawle Point

Note:

  • Stage Route Books Provided at each stage Changeover on arrival of taking-over pair; this allows time to plan before hand-over / take-over.

  • There are no fixed time windows for stage hand-overs

  • But there are penalties for late finish of Stage 4.

What you need

  • Gravel or suitable MTB bike

  • Support vehicle for non-riders and bikes

  • Navigation gear (compass, pens, etc. – we provide maps and route books)

  • Cycling clothing & helmet (mandatory)

  • Personal first aid & bike repair kits

  • Food and fluids for 24 hours of cycling

  • Personal insurance for a competitive UK adventure event

Support and Safety

The event is fully audited and accredited to BS8848 expedition safety standards. Our team is on standby to help with both bikes and bodies. Qualified bike mechanics and medical staff are available and in case of emergency, we’ll get you to the nearest facility as quickly as possible.
